Week 4

Friday: kicked the week off with a woderful performance in the parklands by Windmill Company and some lovely friends to enjoy it with. The kids absolutely loved it and we perched ourselves under the big trees on our picnic blanket and were enthralled by the performance. Only bettered by mega tasty gelato and coffee afterwards...

Saturday: a lovely lazy day in the garden and a lovely walk at dusk complete with wagon to collect interesting things along the way and fairy wings...

Sunday: we headed to the Crush Festival in the Adelaide Hills and enjoyed a day of beautiful wines and food and company. Mini-bused it up and back so was a really relaxing day. No photos of us up there but one of my beautiful agapanthas at home with food colouring added to the water to give a beautiful effect to the flower heads. Part of my new years resolution was to have fresh flowers in the house every week and so far so good...

Monday: we arrived at Pt Willunga for a mini holiday with some friends and were quick to hit the beach to cool off...

Tuesday: and along with the rest of Adelaide, we headed back down to the beach at Aldinga. With a 9:30 start on the beach we managed to secure a great spot. We had a top set up with cars, TripleJJJ Hottest 100 blaring, plentiful food platters, beach cricket, sand castle building equipment and a few bevvies to wash it all down with. I was honestly gobsmacked at the amount of cars on the beach- so many that they even had to close the beach to others wanting to come down! It was crazy.

Wednesday: Day off and off to the wonderful playground at Glenelg near the Buffalo overlooking the boats in the wharf. One of our favourites...

Thursday: another super busy day at work, a little comic relief at dinner time...

Till next week...

Week 3

Was a really busy week this week with coming home from our mini vacation, a christening, hot wather again and a couple of days at home trying to recover from the week before...

Friday: the best day on the beach so far of our trip to South Port. Lots of sandcastles, boogey-boarding, beach walks and swimming...

Saturday: and the weather turned a bit and became quite windy. Was probably a good day to be back up at the house and perfect weather for cooking up some terriffic food (inclding charcoal quail and some ripper ribs), great friends and family, and a spot of very cold fishing off the bridge...

Sunday: and an early departure from the beach as we had a christening to go to. Brilliant kid entertainers were there with face painting, lots of games and dancing. The kids first ever 3 course meal too! And Molly finally fits into her special Lelli Kellie shoes!

Monday: finally a day at hope to unpack and try to get through the piles of washing (and sand that found its way home with us). The kids were pretty tired so dressups and a cubby house was erected for some serious dinosaur book reading...

Tuesday: work today so nothing exciting, but just a cute photo...

Wednesday: some playdoh to keep the troops entertained after a morning at the park...

Thursday: was hot again and I couldnt be bothered cooking after work so we headded off to the beach for a yiros and Andersons. And some tackling practice too...

Week 2

Hot! Hot! Hot! What a scorcher of a week!
Lots of inside activities this week and lots of swims as well.

Friday: saw a very slow day inside with some baking, movies and a great big procession of animals...

Saturday: involved a trip to mum and dads for a swim and some painting with nono...

Sunday: another scorcher well over 42oC so off to pa and Margies for a swim and some bbq chicken...

Monday: was inspired by some lovely ladies and we made an oven out of some boxes. Even though we already have a toy oven this one seemed to be the toy of the moment and lots of lovely goodies were 'cooked' inside...

Tuesday: a day at Margie and Pa's for the kids saw more swimming and more painting inside. Some delicious lasagne for tea...

Wednesday: the creativity of inside activities was really stretched today with yet another hot one. The kids all on their own gor dressed up for school, M complete with her 1 boot, head band and dress oulled down tp make a skirt and N with his backpack full, no pants and a secondary bag for the extras...

Thursday: another work day but with the beach a reward at the end of the day it passed quickly enough. Headed down to South Port for a mini holiday that night just in time for the sunset...

Glad the stinker of a week is over.

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

One week down already- I can not believe it. Had a very slow start to the week recovering from New Years Eve (and I still think a bit of a hangover from the lead up to and Christmas/Boxing Day).
Friday: was spent slothing on the couch, eating leftovers (STILL) with Molly not being well. Nor was dad.
Not a very exciting start to this Blog that is for sure!

Saturday: bought with it renewed energy levels and a tea party for 2!
Mini oreos and jam drops were the hit of the party, and the tea (water) was a top brew.

Sunday: energy levels continued to rise and a ride around the block after dinner to visit Harry the dog, who lives with his 93 year old owner around the corner from us, resulted in a pretty typical dad-carrying-the-bike episode and Molly dawddling, complete with helmet still intact.

Monday: dad took the extra day off and we celebrated (commiserated?) the last days of the holidays with (well firstly a trip to the doctors to make sure Molly didnt have measles- just a viral rash thank goodness) a trip to Henley for a shell-collecting walk along the beach, followed by fish and chips and cold rolls and chicken hokein noodles, all washed down with gelati. A perfect way to end the holidays.

Tuesday: back to work bagh. My busiest time of the year at work but geeeez it was quiet! Oh so quiet! I listened to the fountain splashing all day- blissful. Here is the view from my window- all the way down to the bay.

Wednesday: a very hot and busy Little Spunky Monkey day with finishing a big order and delivering it to a lovely lady. Alice visited in the afternoon which was filled with dinosaur books, coffee, drawing, watermelon, rocking chairs, pastries, a little bit of cabin feever and cubby houses.

Thursday: back to work and hot hot hot. Famous open rocket steak sandwiches AGAIN tonight, all with a glass of Nepenthe's finest. Yummo.
So one week down, 51 to go. Next week will bring lots of swimming in the heat, an engagement party, moving offices at work, Southport and a birthday party.
